Frequently Asked Questions
Can I commission a painting?
I'm happy to work on commissions, to paint or draw people or places. I can work from life or from photos. And if you have a colour palette which you particularly like or would complement the room the artwork is destined for, I can paint in your preferred colours. If you have an idea lets discuss the options.
Do you collaberate on projects?
If you have a project that you think I could add value to I'd be interested to hear from you.
How do I buy an original art work?
Take a look at my shop, if the artwork is there you can click through and order. Payment will be taken via PayPal and I'll be in touch to confirm postage,
Or take a look at my instagram feed (link from homepage) is there something on there you like but it's not in the shop? . If you send me a message I'll let you know what is available.
If you would like further photos or details of a painting please just ask. I am also happy to arrange a private viewing at my home in central Brighton.
What is giclee printing?
Giclee printing is meant to produce a product at a higher quality and with a longer lifespan than a standard desktop inkjet printer. The word is taken from a version of the French word 'la giclée', meaning 'that which is sprayed or squirted'. Each giclee print is printed on beautiful archival paper, using fade resistant, pigment inks. The image will have a border, useful for framing.
What will the print look like?
The giclee print will be on 230gsm archival paper with pigment inks that Epson say are light stable for 100 years. The prints will come with a white border to allow for framing.
The colours may differ a little on the print from what you see here on the website. Viewing something digitally can give it a vibrance that is unattainable in real life.
How will my prints be packaged?
All prints come wrapped in tissue and rolled in a sturdy cardboard tube.
UK Postage will be made using a tracked and signed for service.
Postage outside the UK can be arranged on request.
When will my artwork arrive?
Artwork will be posted as promptly as possible. Prints will be made to order and could take 7-14 days to arrive. Original artwork could potentially need to be packaged in a crate so could take 7-14 days too. If you need something quicker get in touch and I'll see what i can do to speed up the process.
How will my original art work be packaged?
All original artwork will be posted in appropriate packaging. Either in a cardboard protective box with bubble wrpa and corner protectors or something sturdier like a crate if needed.
Do you offer a framing service?
I can arrange for prints or artwork to be framed and sent complete and finshed, ready to hang on your wall. I use an excellent local framing service, The Frame Factory on Sydney Street, Brighton. Frames will be charged at cost + 15% handling fee.
Please note Postage & Packaging will aslo be more expensive due to the frame and protective packaging that will be necessary to ensure safe delviery.
If you would like to discuss this option please send me a message and we can talk through options.
